Lawelawe Snap Back…

Anyone who was lucky enough to cop a pair of FITTED x EIGHTY FOUR x VANS is gonna want this snap back!

Pow Wow Skull Art…

Pupukea, Oahu just before sunset. Jeff hits a boar with his bow @ ~30 ft. The boar runs off into the bushes. Jeff tracks it but only finds a trail of blood. Month or so later while hunting for the POW WOW imu, Kamea runs into this carcass. Its the same pig (so he claims). Fast forward to POW WOW. Shows over, artists go home, the skull becomes the POW WOW autograph/scrap book. Turned out pretty sick so we had to shoot it!

Human Nature…

Our good friend Kamea Hadar had an art showing last night at the Edition Hotel. You can check him out in the latest edition of innov8 magazine from Go Airlines.

Don’t you know I’m Loco…

Kelly (blonde) & Gina (brunette) suited up for a cruise with Paiea Projects and Loco Boutique. The girls and the swimsuits were a match made in Hawaii. Good looking out bruddah Ben. And yes, we know you are LOCO.

Puukohola Heiau…

As soon as we heard about the event at Puukohola Heiau celebrating the 200th anniversary of the unification of the Hawaiian Islands, we knew we had to be there. It was a celebration of our unity as Hawaiians, our culture, ancestors, and our King Kamehameha (aka Paiʻea). Words cannot describe the emotions evoked by the ceremony just beneath the massive heiau. Hopefully these images can make you feel some of the “chicken skin” that we experienced.

Big Up to da Big Island…

Week 1: Palm Trees, Ulu picking, Alaia surfing @ Po’ohiki, randoms, Omoka’a (Miloli’i). Mahalo uncle Sam!

Week 2: Awawaloa waterfall, 4 wheeling in Papa’ikou, Tako breath, Contrast interview, Uncle Sig & Kuhao Zane.

Camp Fitted…

After too many late nights around town these past few weeks, I finally had a chance to relax. Thanks to the boys (and girls) from Fitted for inviting us out west to the spot. I can’t remember the last time I went camping. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and just kick it under the stars. Aside from the foot piercing keawe, it was an amazing weekend. Check out Fitted and Contrast’s blogs for the full story.

Standing 8…

Kema went down to Fitted Hawaii to shoot the Standing 8 Womens Tee. Kema brought his camera, Candice City brought the swagga!

Kokua Fest 2010…

A two night Hippie fest, properly dubbed the Kokua Festival, packed the Waikiki Shell this past weekend. Jack Johnson and Ziggy Marley headlined the event with help from Taj Mahal, Paula Funga, Anuhea, and Jake Shimabukuro. The beer was expensive, bathroom lines were ridiculous, and undercovers were going nuts arresting anyone having a “good time.” Highlights of the nights were “Beach in Hawaii” (ft. Ziggy & Jake) and “Country Road” (ft. Jack & Paula). Mahalo to Contrast Magazine for the press photo pass.

A Town Pa’ina…

Town Restaurant celebrated its 5 year anniversary this past Sunday. The parking lot was packed with friends, family, and anyone lucky enough to be wandering around the area that day. Free food, beers, jungle punch, live music, and an all out good vibe. Pai’ea Projects was hired to capture the day’s events.

F-Outta Here…

We met up with Ola and Maia at Ala Moana beach park to shoot Fitted’s upcoming release… a girls shirt dubbed “F-Outta Here.”

Konnichiwa…

From Kyoto to Nagano… and everything in between. 2 weeks in Japan left me wanting more. The food, the people, the culture… I loved everything Japan had to offer!

Hawai’i nei…

Deep in the valley…

Our boy Simon (Dr. Kim) blasted his first pig three days ago with his brand new .308! Gutted, skinned and quartered, we relocated from Pupukea to Damien’s house deep in the back of Palolo Valley. It was our first legitimate attempt at digging an imu. Mahalo to his pops for all the insight and kokua.

Chinese New Year 2010…

If you’ve never been downtown during Chinese New Year, you’re missing out. Tons of people, delicious food, and great entertainment!

Kiholo, Hawaii…

I was fortunate enough to be invited to spend a weekend in Kiholo, Hawaii. Thanks to Lissa Gendreau for making it all possible. The fishpond at Kiholo was erected in 1810 by Kamehameha the Great (Pai’ea). Fishing, diving, kayak surfing, bonfires, gas stoves, fried ‘opae, moi, mu, aholehole, tako, and bottomless coolers of C-‘s made for an amazing weekend.

Slapp Symphony…

Rolling deep with Slapp Symphony, Cuzzo, and the boys from Salt Lake’s notorious “H Building” to photograph the upcoming release of Fitted Hawaii’s “H Pride” New Era and “Kill Them With Aloha” t-shirt.

Kickin it in the clouds…

If you don’t already know, FITTED’s got a shoe.  These photos were taken while parasailing off of Waikiki. After posting to their blog, Internet Sites went crazy, frothing over the highly anticipated release of “Kaholo.” Only 60 pairs exist, good luck finding one! Mahalo to Extreme Parasailing for hooking it up.

Hurt my back snowboarding so I opted to grab my camera and take some water shots. Was a beautiful day on the outer island.

River St…

Met up with FITTED at A’ala Park to take some shots of their upcoming release. Everything went smoothly until Cuzzo locked his keys in the car. At least we got the shot.
