Paiko Hawaii…

Paiko Hawaii in Kaka’ako is the perfect place to take your significant other on a quick and fun date. Last night my girlfriend surprised me and signed us up for one of their “succulent workshops.” Walking into the store for the first time I was a little skeptical if i’d enjoy myself, but once I got my hands dirty I really got into it. I felt like Mr. Miyagi perfecting his bonsai as I meticulously crafted my succulent masterpiece. Check out their website at paikohawaii.com for more information on upcoming workshops.

Puukohola Heiau…

As soon as we heard about the event at Puukohola Heiau celebrating the 200th anniversary of the unification of the Hawaiian Islands, we knew we had to be there. It was a celebration of our unity as Hawaiians, our culture, ancestors, and our King Kamehameha (aka Paiʻea). Words cannot describe the emotions evoked by the ceremony just beneath the massive heiau. Hopefully these images can make you feel some of the “chicken skin” that we experienced.

Welcome to Paiʻea Projects…

Thousands of Hawaiians showed up to voice their displeasure with Governor Lingle in her attempts to sell our ceded lands.  We printed our first t-shirts in the garage using spray paint and a stencil.  People took notice of our message, and showed strong support in our efforts.
