Quite “Frank”ly It Was A Huge Pig…
Spent the last weekend in Hanalei on the beautiful island of Kaua’i. Our friends Eli & Kaleo were married at Cannons Beach. 1 day prior, I was able to witness Uncle Bobo and crew prep the 500lb pig for the reception party Kauai style.
Stunned with a 22mm, slit at the throat and bled in the trailer.
Washed clean with dish soap and scrubbed with green papaya halves. The skin was then torched and scraped with machetes and smoothed with shaving razors.
Barca grabs a leg as they rip the guts out.
Uncle quarters the pig. Half for the imu and half for laulaus.
Eli helps string it up to dry.
Let the laulau wrapping begin.
